What exactly is My Starfish Foundation?

My Starfish Foundation (formerly known as Khind Starfish Foundation) is a public philanthropy platform in Malaysia which fosters connections to individuals, corporates and non-profit organisations. Who is Cheng Ping Keat (PK Cheng)?

Cheng Ping Keat (PK Cheng) is the chairman of the Foundation to establish the Khind Starfish Foundation.

Why My Starfish Foundation?

The creation of the Foundation was inspired by a story of a young boy and an old man at a beach. The young boy was trying to return to the sea, starfishes that were washed up onto the beach. The old man was worried that the youngster would not be able to make much of a difference since there were thousands of them on the beach. When the child threw another starfish back into the sea, he said: I can make a difference to this one. The old man, touched by the kind act of this young boy, decided to help him. Their action attracted other people onto the beach. After sometime, more and more people joined them in throwing the starfishes back into the sea. Finally, they managed to save all the starfishes. This story inspired Mr. Cheng Ping Keat (PK Cheng), Chairman of the Foundation to establish the Khind Starfish Foundation as actions of people, however small, can make a difference.
