FAQs

Projects for Happiness is a nationwide, student-led initiative for undergraduates in Malaysia to design and implement grassroots community projects that promote wellbeing while addressing the root causes of poverty and poor education. Through a competitive selection across over 100 campuses, selected projects receive funding of up to RM10,000, along with support to encourage innovation, social entrepreneurship, and sustainable impact within socio-economically challenged communities.

Who is funding Projects for Happiness 2.0?

Projects for Happiness was initiated through the generosity of My Starfish Foundation. The Foundation was established by Mr. Cheng Ping Keat, Executive Chairman of Khind Holdings Berhad, a Malaysian manufacturer and marketer of consumer and industrial electrical products with a long-standing commitment to charitable and community initiatives.

For Projects for Happiness 2.0, My Starfish Foundation is proud to partner with the Malaysian Social Entrepreneurs Foundation (MSEF) to further strengthen the programme’s reach, impact, and sustainability. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to nurturing youth-led social innovation and fostering a strong culture of volunteerism and social responsibility among young adults across Malaysia.
